Left the house at about 11:10. The drive was going to be about an hour. I can say that it was an hour but felt like 25 minutes. When we got there, our boat was the only one there, so we didn't have to get confused about what boat was ours. When we drove up to drop off our luggage, the porter said Mom had to go to the front of the line to get our room number before we could check them in. The paperwork he had said our room was TBD (to be determined) Mom came back with the our room number which was 6350. We dropped off our luggage and parked the car in the covered garage and waited in line to continue our registration process.
It was so hot but finally we checked in and got our sail card which would allow us to put any charges on the card and let us enter our room. Once on board we immediately went to take care of our excursions for the diving. Once again, a long line. I guess this will be something we have to get used to for at least a couple of days.
After we took care of our excursions we went to lunch. There was a large buffet with separate stations of foods. Asian, Deli, Hot Dogs, burger's, Pizza, salad, etc. The desserts were endless, they even had an ice cream bar. While sitting having a filling lunch the weather started to get stormy. It came in very quickly with pouring rain and lightning.
Later after lunch, the Captain said they were waiting for a group of passengers that had been delayed due to their flight coming in late and that we wouldn't be sailing until they arrived. After walking around getting familiar with the ship Mom wanted to go to the spa to sign up for a prize raffle. While waiting for the raffle all of a sudden we looked outside and realized that we were leaving port and they didn't even sound the horn...bummer.
While Mom was in waiting on the raffle I walked around the ship taking pictures. Mom came and found me and said she won a back massage in the raffle. We continued to walk around the deck especially since the rain had stopped. The deck was very wet. We walked to the top and it was very windy up there. So we headed back into the lobby where we decided to go back up to our room and relax for a little bit.
Once we were in our room we just sat around for about 10 minutes before we started unpacking. After that I got the laptop out and started working on the website. After working on it for awhile, my mom said we should take our showers now, so I stopped and I got into the shower, I took a nice long hot shower. When I got out, my mom went in and got her shower. I got dressed while she was in the shower. I worked on the website some more. During making the website, I could feel the boat rock back and forth and it was kind of making me sick. But I took the medication that my dad told me to talk if I was feeling sick. We got ready to got to dinner that was at 8:15, so we left around 7:55. We went to the restaurant and we asked to get a seating change, because it was just going to be mom and I. So we got a table for two people. But it wasn't time to eat yet, so we walked around and we walked by some people taking pictures, so we asked if they could take one of us. He wasn't used to my type of camera, but the picture came out good. Then we decided to go sit down for a bit.
My mom and I went into the library to wait until dinner started and a kid came in wanting to charge his laptop. We started talking and we figured out that his name was Tanner and he was from North Carolina and was a diver. And after hearing everything he had to say we decided to invite him to dinner with us and he said it was ok. So we left right then and headed to dinner. with us.
When we arrived at dinner we asked if we could get another change in where we sat. We got changed to a big table with another family that was already there. We got there and they were just really happy family, saying how happy they were and everything. They were quite a strange family I would have to say. We had a lot of fun, for dinner I got sweet and sour shrimp and my mom had new york streak. After we got desert, my mom had something I don't even know the name and I had fruit. After that the daughter of the other family (karlin) and the other boy we meet (tanner) and I went out and walked around the ship. We pretty much just walked around the ship and talked about nothing. I just decided to go back to the room because it was getting boring, I'm not sure what tanner and karlin did and it will remain a a mystery.
When I got back, the first thing I did was say hi to my mom and turned on the computer. I worked on the journal while my mom did stuff around the room and listened to her music. The journal was quite easy, but the hard park is going to be to lay out the page and enter the pictures. I just finished today's journal then headed to bed. It was a quite fun/hyper/awesome/crazy/adventurous/learning day. Cant wait till tomorrow and what its going to happen.
