We got up early this morning as usual. We got all of our stuff together then we uploaded it in the car. Well my dad wasn't going to go on this trip because his ears were really hurting him, so he didn't want to make it worse. So he drove us to the airport. He dropped us off at United/TED and we said goodbye to him. Then we headed to the ticket counter to check our bags in. Once that was all done we had to go through security. It's not that bad in the morning because no big flight's come in this time of day.
We got through security without a problem, we got some breakfast and went to the gate. The plane was already there so we didn't have to wait that long. While we were sitting there my mom showed me hockey tickets to the game tomorrow nights game, I was all happy. The only thing was that dad wasn't here and we had an extra ticket. Well before we boarded the plane I took a picture of it from the terminal.
When we got on the A320 and we found our seats right on the wing, but after the emergency exits. I went up to see the pilots while we were still boarding. They were very helpful and letting me know a lot of things. I also got to sit in the captains seat and see his view of things.
I headed back to my seat and got buckled in and ready to go. We pushed back and about 5 minutes later we were at the runway. We were lining up at the runway and I got a video of the takeoff.
The flight was about hour and half. There was no in-flight movie or anything. So I just listened to my Ipod and took pictures of the wing and the sky. On this flight we were not heading directly to Toronto, we had to make a stop in Washington. We were landing at Washington Dulles Intl. When we were descending into Washington, It was a really bad day there. It was raining and really gray. I have got a wonderful video on it. You might want to watch the whole thing, it's got some cool stuff in it.
We landed and we went right to our gate. Well we got off and we went to our next gate, our luggage was going to be on that connecting flight. We waited a little bit and they said over the loud speaker that our flight was delayed for a couple of hours. Then later they said over the speaker that our flight was cancelled because of bad weather in toronto. So, my mom waited in the costomer service line to see what we had to do. She waited for about 2 hours and she figured out that we had to either go on the later flight that day that was cancelled or go to Ronald Reagan Intl. We had to go there and sleep the night in Washington. We didn't go right away. We walked around the airport and took alot of pictures.
We got our lugggage from the luggage claim area down in the main terminal. They found ours right away, and they found the other people luggage when they found ours but we just got there and they were there for about three hours. We also found a shuttle that would take us to the other airport. We got our ticket and got on the shuttle. They had to make a few other stops before we got to the hotel we were going to stay at. We are going to stay at the Sheraton. We got there and got our keys to the room and headed up there. When we got up there we were amazed at what we saw.
We got ready for bed and got to bed early so we could be refreshed when we woke up in the morning.
