Day 1: Tuesday December 30, 2008

Surprisingly this morning we didn't get up at 5 in the morning. We got up at around 7:30 and we just walked around and ate breakfast and got our stuff and headed out to the airport. We were running a little late because my dad had to go by UCF to drop off and pick up a new DSL modeum from Brighthouse because ours has been acting up. So when we got to the Sunwing ticket counter, there they were going to close the counter in 5 mins and the lady behind the counter said if my mom wasn't there before 9:45 she couldn't go. My Mom had dropped us off and brought the car to the long term parking area. So my dad was going crazy and he was so mad, but she called her boss and said that my mom has until 10:00 AM to get to the counter so she could go. When she got there, we got our tickets and headed to the gate.

We were flying Sunwing, which fly's the 737's. We gave the ticket people our tickets, and headed on the gateway. There was a line of people waiting to get on the plane. When we got to our seats we settled in and sat there. I got the window, mom got the middle, and dad got the isle. I was using my new Tokina 16-50/2.8 and 50-135/2.8 to take pictures of the plane. We waited and then we pushed back and headed to the runway to take off.

We took off and saw an awesome view of Florida and the coast on our departure.

While cruising I watched a movie that the flight was showing and personally I don't even know the name of it. I also listened to my new itouch and played some games on it, as well as took pictures. They gave people so much food, we got turkey and ham sandwiches as well has hot towels and drinks and little snack bag. And the only bad thing about this plane ride was that this little girl behind me kept kicking my seat and it was so irritating. Before we knew it we were starting our descent. It was very overcast and windy. We made a good approach and landing. We taxied off and went to the gate right next to the 767 Air Canada.

Once again as every trip you take outside the country, you have to go through customs and we had to do that too. My mom and I had the Nexus which allows you to use a machine that reads your eyes for identification so we could get through really quickly. We got our bags and headed to the Nexus station so my dad could wait in line for his Nexus card. I played jelly car while my parents were doing that. When they were done we headed downstairs to catch the bus to go to the hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel which was right across the street from Nathan Phillips Park where the skating rink was. It will be nice not to have to walk back on New Years like we used to do when we stayed at the Westin. The Sheraton was really nice, almost as nice as the Westin. They were very busy. There was a big football game with the University of Conn. (International Bowl) so the band and players were staying at the hotel too. Our hotel room overlooked the pool and we could see people swimming outside in the snow.

The first we did was to head to Futureshop (like Circuit City in the U.S.) so we get another Star Choice receiver for the satellite for the family room in our house to watch the Leaf's games in the family room. We got the last one and just explored the store a little bit. When we finished that we headed out and found a place to eat. We ate at Red Lobster, my favorite restaurante. Mom and dad got the shrimp trio and I got chicken and shrimp. It was so good but it had to come to an end. We were in the hotel and outside they had this water fall thing and the water was very warm so there was steam coming off it and it was really cool.

At that point we headed back to the room to just go and relax. We got there and my dad got on his computer and did some things and I was playing with my iTouch. Then I started doing my journal and watching the Leaf' game on t.v. I'm getting it done that day so I don't have to do it months late and not remember that much. Well today was a very interesting day! Its been over a year since our last trip to Toronto. Before going to bed it started to snow outside.
