Austin's Travel Adventures
Raratonga, Cook Islands

Entry:

Our 2nd day we awoke to clouds and rain. It rained off and on for most of the day. I complained a lot. I could not get warm. Dallas still went out and caught fish. The bad weather continued for the next 5 days. Austin and I went snorkeling with dad but didn't last very long because Austin was shivering, his lips were purple. He was such a trooper. We found a snorkel that fit him perfectly in downtown Ararua.

The restaurants were very expensive and the food mediocre. We found the customer service was lacking in a major way with the exception of P.J.'s, a local sports bar who explained the game of Rugby to Dallas and admired his Tommy Hilfiger shirt.

Morning Stroll

Growing Boy Has to Eat

Most of the vacation with the exception of the last 3 days were very cool. Even the natives were complaining. As well traveled as we were, we were not prepared with many warm clothes. We went into town and bought Austin a rugby shirt. I bought a great hat. Towards the end of our trip we met some really nice people. Mostly Kiwi's from New Zealand and also a nice couple from Canada, Irene and Ted Tisdale.
