Entry:
Our 2nd day we awoke to clouds and rain. It rained off and on for most of the day. I complained a lot. I could not get warm. Dallas still went out and caught fish. The bad weather continued for the next 5 days. Austin and I went snorkeling with dad but didn't last very long because Austin was shivering, his lips were purple. He was such a trooper. We found a snorkel that fit him perfectly in downtown Ararua. The restaurants were very expensive and the food mediocre. We found the customer service was lacking in a major way with the exception of P.J.'s, a local sports bar who explained the game of Rugby to Dallas and admired his Tommy Hilfiger shirt. Most of the vacation with the exception of the last 3 days were very cool. Even the natives were complaining. As well traveled as we were, we were not prepared with many warm clothes. We went into town and bought Austin a rugby shirt. I bought a great hat. Towards the end of our trip we met some really nice people. Mostly Kiwi's from New Zealand and also a nice couple from Canada, Irene and Ted Tisdale.
