Entry:
After a restless night sleep being in a strange bed, we finally got out of the room and headed to Don Shula's restaurant for breakfast. Austin had the breakfast buffet, consisting of a waffle, scramble eggs, bacon, juice, peaches and strawberries, and 3 glasses of juice. Sharon and I had the sort stack, 2 eggs sunny side up, 2 pancakes, bacon, coffee and water. OUCH...$40.00 dollars for breakfast ~~~~ We were scheduled to be at Arlington National Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. We arrived just before that and so did Nancy, Joe and the boys. Everyone adjoined to Legal Seafood for lunch. It was nice to have everyone together. We spend most of the afternoon chatting among ourselves and catching up. Unfortunately, Jonathan had to leave early to catch a flight home. After lunch we left and went our separate ways. Dallas, Austin and I went back to our hotel to freshen up and change clothes en route to the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals. Before we left Dallas gave Austin his very own Maple Leafs' jersey. He was so proud. Now his wardrobe is complete he said. The game was located at the MCI arena in the Chinatown section of Washington. We decided to take a taxi so we wouldn't have to worry about finding parking and dealing with the traffic. . bringing good luck to the game Toronto scored one goal during the first period and continued into the 3rd with an ending score of Toronto 6 and Washington 2. We were sitting 7 rows up from the ice right at the face off circle, and before the game Austin and I were able to go right down to the boards and watch the warm up. One of his favorite players, Tucker shot the puck at the boards and SMACK, it hit the glass right by Austin's right ear. We both jumped!!! He had a smile a mile wide. We enjoyed the game, popcorn, pretzels and drinks with the one exception of a crazy person directly behind Dallas screaming and it only got worse with the drinks that followed. Good thing he was for Toronto. We left, found a taxi and back to the hotel for the night. Austin was asleep within minutes. Looking forward to a day of sightseeing and once again enjoying the company of our family.
