Once we finally landed in Pape'ette, Tahiti we were met at the airport with our fresh flower lei's then brought to the Beachcomber Intercontinental Hotel for our one night stay (6 hour difference to FL). Of course we checked in and all just couldn't wait to get to our room to crash for the night. We all took showers and crawled into bed. It was about 2 a.m. Florida time and 8 p.m. Tahiti time. Dallas woke me at 4:48 a.m. apparently he had been wandering the resort to get the plate for our trip picture frame.

We went back to sleep and woke again at 7 a.m. (usual at home time) and went down to breakfast for one of the largest buffet breakfast I've seen. They served everything from Chinese noodles, fresh made omelets, muffins, pancakes coconut milk, soy milk, mango juice… they had it all. We stuffed ourselves knowing we weren't going to eat until dinner. It was vacation after all. After breakfast we took a quick tour of the resort and took some pictures.

They had a lagoonarium where you could snorkel with the fish and mantarays. They had a lot of morish idols and small sharks We then headed to the beach at the lagoon which was just outside the room. We tried to rent jet ski's but they didn't have any times available before we left. Austin decided to snorkel in the lagoon while Dallas watched him from the beach. Dallas was too tired to snorkel. I decided to lay down and read the first of my 4 books I would read. While lying there I looked down in the water and saw a huge puffer fish.

I don't remember when we got up but when we did I saw my dad standing there with a license plate. I got up and got dressed so we could go to breakfast. While I was waiting I happened to look outside and I saw an Air France A340 taxing to the End of the runway to take off. I watched it take off and it wasn't really that loud. They had a buffet for breakfast. They had everything. I got pancakes, waffles, fruit, juice and much more. After breakfast we went out and explored the resort a little.

A Good Meal To Start The Day

(Pape'tte 2007)

We found out that there was a little lagoon that you could swim in. So I got all my stuff and my camera. I was going out there to practice taking pictures so when I got in there I just started taking pictures. I went all the way around the lagoon. I got some good shots of the fish. Then I went back to the room and took a shower and washed all of the equipment off so they could dry and we could put them in the dive bag. We had to pack because we had to leave soon. So we got all packed then headed up to the front office. We sat and waited for our bus to come. When a bus came we went up and asked if this bus was going to the airport and he said no, so we sat back down. My mom went up and talked to someone about it and they called a cab and when he came the lady behind the counter said this is it but it wasn't. At this point my dad is getting mad. We waited about until 11:00 then our driver came. But in between my mom and I played cards. The ride was less than 4 minutes away.

When we got there they guy that drove us did everything pretty much. We went to the Air Tahiti Ticket counter and talked to the people. My dad couldn't hear them so I had to help. We had to pay extra money because the bags were a little to heavy after a lot of aggravation we finally got our tickets. We put the bags thru the security then we went thru and we went to the gate and waited what felt like forever.

Then our flight finally got there it was a small ATR 72. We had to walk out to the plane and it was a little bit out from the terminal. On the way I took pictures of the A340 that was sitting there.

We got on the plane and we could sit where ever we wanted. But there was already people on board so we didn't have that good of a choice. I took lots of pictures and was Listening to my Ipod the whole flight. I was listening to Blue Collar Comedy. I also pulled the cards out and I played with my mom. We had to stop at Rangoria to pick up some people. After we did we headed to Tikihau, a very short flight. We arrived and we unboarded to a small terminal. We got our bags shortly after.

We met up with the person that was down there from the Pearl Beach Resorts. We got in a Van and rode for about 5 minutes. Then we came to a dock where we had to get on a boat to go to the resort. It was a really nice resort. When we arrived they gave us a flower and towels to clean our hands.

Then they gave us a drink while we fill out all the information. They showed us our room and we stayed in there until we got our luggage. The room was very nice and spacious. It had a nice bathroom too. Then we unpacked and then headed out to explore the island a little bit. Then we headed to dinner. I didn't see anything that I liked so I got some lasagna. My Dad got chicken and my mom got Mahi Mahi fish. After we headed back to the room and I got ready for bed and laid in bed listening to my Ipod until I fell asleep. I was really tired from walking and traveling and getting up early.
